CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE FURNACES This technology uses an endothermic gas (a gas whose combustion is incomplete) to protect parts during heat treatment. It allows us to vary the contents of this gas by adding a hydrocarbon (natural gas) so that we can adjust the carbon content in order to carburize or, by producing a gas whose carbon content matches the carbon content of the parts (neutral hardening) to be processed. This technology has the advantage of being very flexible and enables us to process a variety of parts, from gears to fasteners to springs. It makes it possible to do selective carburizing, to carburize to substantial depths, and all this, in an environmentally friendly way!
