NATIONAL TOOL HARDENING INC.
Who are we?
Since 1969, NATIONAL TOOL HARDENING INC. has cultivated an unparalleled reputation in the field of tooling heat treat services for the province of Quebec. Never before had a heat treating facility, here, dared to specialize exclusively in the treatment of tooling item. This service is to be considered more an art than a science, as such, it can never be fully automated. Every item requires individual attention, conscientious handling and artful workmanship to provide an optimum result. It is for these very reasons that, from our first day of operation, we have opted in favour of molten salts baths for all our tooling heat threat processes.
Though salt baths have been discarded by some as outdated and basically non-productive in a high volume output situation, we have yet to be shown a more consistent heat-transfer medium for the treatment of such varied and often intricate tool designs as we have come to be entrusted with.
In 1989, we ventured into the production oriented field of endothermic controlled-atmosphere bath technologies and have since cultivated an enviable reputation for exemplary distortion management, metallurgical homogeneity and aesthetically as well as environmentally clean parts.
This technology lends itself very well to short run production lots of such items as fasteners and springs, as well as such machinery parts as gears, shafts, flanges, etc…Our straightening dept. complements this technology very nicely. Enabling us to straighten such product as hydraulic pump shafts to within .00z” (.05 mm ).
More recently, in August of 2001, National Tool Hardening Inc. acquired the asset of Les Traitements Thermiques de la rive-sud along with all of it’s accumulated experience and expertise in the heat treatment of machinery parts by means of their Ion Nitriding, flame hardening, induction hardening and cyaniding /liquid carburizing technologies, all under the quick turnaround banner.
